HAFA ADAI Potential Sponsors! The Guam Community College Math Department will be hosting our Annual Math Fest 2020 on March 20th. This festival includes the International Math Kangaroo Competition and a Math Carnival with entertainment for the students. It will be an all-day event for 1st through 12th grade students ranging in age from 5 to 18 years, from both public and private schools. Over the last few years, the popularity of the Math Fest has grown on Guam and we have had students from the competition place on an international level. This year our department is planning to host 350 participants.
The Math Kangaroo makes an effort to: • Encourage students to master their mathematical knowledge. • Give them confidence in their ability to comprehend mathematics. • Help them understand how mathematics applies in nature's laws and human activities. • Develop their ability to derive pleasure and satisfaction through intellectual life. • Show that mathematical education is significant in every part of the world. GCC’s Math Department has been a proud partner since 2009. The Math Kangaroo Competition usually takes place from 9:30 – 11:30 A.M. After the test, the students will be participating in the GCC Math Carnival from 10:30 A.M. – 1:30 P.M. in the GCC Student Center courtyard. Students will have the chance to engage in games and activities to enhance their mathematics skills. As an incentive, the students will also have various opportunities to win prizes. The purpose of our festival is to help mold our young enthusiasts and help grow their passion for mathematics. As a potential sponsor, we would greatly appreciate your donation of promotional items, gifts certificates or t-shirts to be used as prizes for the games and activities. Your tax-deductible donation will undoubtedly have an impact on these students, helping to fuel their incentive to excel in math. On behalf of our participants and families, we thank you for your consideration, and for your support of math education! |
